Also just wanted to pass on (again) how awesome I think this program is.
Reece is learning so much and these sessions are worth 10 of his regular weekly team training sessions. Gus is fantastic in the way he encourages the kids and it is so beautiful to watch Reece trying his "skills" during a game... Unfortunately not too many of them are coming off at this stage...
But you can see his confidence growing and at least he doesn't "just kick"
the ball every time he gets it now. By the time he's 10 / 11, I have no doubt that Gus will have turned him into a very good player !
Thanks again.

My son James (6 years) is in his second season with the Lions and attended this weeks 3 day July soccer clinic at Redfield College. I just wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for running such a brilliant 3 days for the kids. James had a great time, what a wonderful way to spend 3days of the school holidays. Keeping active, making new friends and appreciating a further love for a sport he already adores. The ball has been stuck to his foot for the last few weeks with the World Cup fever, even more so now, it has followed us into the car, back into the house, down to the local park, into our backyard and at times it even rests in his room by his bed ready first thing in the morning when he wakes to be dribbled through the house, its great to watch this love further grow and I am only too happy to nurture it. He has been showing me and his soccer mad grandad the tricks he was taught and looks forward in showing the rest of the family.Hope we can join you in October for the one day clinic.

My Matthew goes to Cerro Football Academy and just loves it. Send your child to Gus and you too can have the fun and excitement of watching them do the "Maradona" through the kitchen, the "Ronaldhino" down the hall, "side roll - side roll step back" whilst doing the dishes and many others... (the one where you flick the ball up with your heels, over your head, land it on your right foot, then continue juggling happens in the front yard - I draw the line at that one)....
Gus,
I would like to extend Steve, my and Matthews thanks to you, Maitina and Dave for the great weekend in Canberra. Matthew really enjoyed it and Stephen and I had a nice relaxing weekend as well with just enough sight of Matthew to know he's still alive but not enough to "cramp our style"....
It was really great and well worth it to Matthew to visit the famous AIS
and get the opportunity to train with a "Matilda". I notice I'm getting
all sorts of "useful" advice on what food to prepare as well! Thanks,
great trip!
Thanks & Regards

My eldest son has been going since the Academy started and I have been extremely happy with his progress and Gus’s coaching ability. The kids really enjoy it !!
I’m sure you’ll agree skill’s training is vital at a young age and there is NO better training in Sydney than Cerro Football Academy”

Giselle and I just wanted to say how grateful we are that CFA exists and that you guys take such an active interest in the kids in the academy. It continually puzzles me why Gus is not training every single kid in every team in the club. Your teaching skills and enthusiasm are very valuable and have greatly helped Nick pursue his great passion. Thanks again

Our son Nicholas first came to the Gus Cerro Football Academy two years ago. He was 11 years of age and had just finished a difficult year in the under 11's Kur-ring-gai representative team. The coaching and mentorship in the representative team was very unsatisfactory. Most of the boys did not progress their skills during the competitive year. It was obvious from the first session that Nick had with Gus Cerro that he is a talented and committed soccer coach. His ball skills are incredible! Gus teaches that ball control and ball skills are more important than "power play". All of the academy players have greatly improved their skills during their time with Gus- many have subsequently been selected for rep teams.
Gus has also been an excellent mentor to the boys in the Academy. He has given them huge opportunities by organising competitions against other acadamies and by taking them on "soccer" trips including to the AIS in Canberra and on a SE Asian soccer tour. We are surprised that this amazing coaching talent isn't more widely known about! We encourage any parents who have an aspiring and committed soccer player at home to join CFA.

Within two months of commencing the Cerro Football Academy’s ERP Program Mitchell’s skill level and enthusiasm for the game increased ten fold. Gus’s nurturing and motivation of the players is second to none; he has their respect and is able to bring out the best in each of them.

Dear Gus
Andrew has enjoyed/benefited from the experience so much. He has not only learnt a great deal and many new skills; he has become much fitter, and you have given his confidence a boost beyond belief. Not that he has a big head mind you - he suffered from low self esteem before he joined your academy, but now believes he's "okay".
And I was also going to write to you this morning to thank you so much for making the effort to train the boys yesterday, even though you could have called it off with the excuse that the fields were closed. And sorry for you that only 5 turned up, but Andrew claimed he had the most fun ever at a training session!
You are a credit to this great sport, and your patience, dedication and encouragement with the boys is second to none....so a great coach in all respects!
Best Regards,
Cathy

TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM kicks of with a BANG in 2007, with 2 of the most passionate clubs in the Hills taking on this great program for coaches
Here are testimonials from some of the coaches:
Just wanted to let you know that the TAPS held on Saturday was sensational. Being my first year of coaching Under 8's I found it to be extremely beneficial, although I have played Soccer all my life, It's very different when training kids that are only 7 and 8 years of age. Walked away from the course extremely confidant that everything I was taught on the day, would be an asset to my team whilst we are in training each week. Thanks so much for offering the course to those that wanted to participate, you did a tremendous job and I look forward to the possibility of perhaps a follow up course mid season.
Once again, excellent job, thanks.
Cheers Jason/Jets coach
Thank you for arranging the training course for the coaches on Saturday. I found it very beneficial and informative. Gus had some great ideas which I will be able to use with the kids at training.
